About the Role

Duke Family Transportation is hiring an experienced CDL driver for our stretcher transport and non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) service. You'll be transporting bed-bound patients, handling hospital and nursing facility transfers, and providing dignified care during every trip.

This role requires a current CDL, comfort with hydraulic lift equipment, and prior experience in medical transport or a similar field. You'll work alongside a team that values safety, compassion, and reliability above all else.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CDL-class stretcher-equipped vehicles safely across Georgia
  • Load, secure, and transport bed-bound and non-ambulatory patients
  • Operate hydraulic lifts and follow all patient securement protocols
  • Coordinate with hospitals, nursing facilities, and dispatch on transfers
  • Maintain trip documentation, HIPAA compliance, and patient confidentiality
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Respond calmly and professionally during all types of transport situations

Requirements

  • Valid CDL (Class B preferred; Class A or C considered) with clean driving record
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
  • Prior experience in medical transport, stretcher transport, or EMS strongly preferred
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and safely transfer patients
  • CPR / First Aid / BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication, situational awareness, and composure under pressure
